Loxone & Apple Home – integration with HomeKit
Many users also want to control parts of their smart home via Apple Home (HomeKit). Using suitable interfaces and middleware solutions – for example Homebridge with the appropriate Loxone plugin – selected functions can be integrated into Apple Home. This allows lighting, shading or scenes to be controlled via the Apple Home app or with Siri, in addition to the Loxone App.
It is important to understand that HomeKit integration is usually implemented via third-party solutions and that Loxone is currently not an officially certified Apple HomeKit product. For professional projects, we therefore always plan all core functions primarily in the Loxone system itself – and see the optional connection to Apple Home as a convenient add-on, not a replacement for the Loxone App.
